December 1, 2007 Fellow Chef, We would like to thank all who participated in our 13th Annual Showcase Gala Event at Woodway Country Club. It was a proud moment for our association and for David's Treasure Tree in which the evening will benefit. It is inspirational to see so many giving their own time, product and culinary talent to this special cause. We also commend General Manager Sam Kadi, CCM, Chef Richard Scully, TJ and the rest of the excellent staff at Woodway for a show in performance and hospitality. Thanks to Belinda Foster and Kari Pollak from Stamford Hospital who headed up the auction items, ticket sales, chefs programs and worked the registration table the night of the event and expressed their thanks to all of the active participants and applauded the event for its success. Director Tom Connelly and Chef/Instructor Jeff Trombetta from the Norwalk Community College Hospitality program were much appreciated with their staff in making sure that we had anything we needed. The evening would not have been possible if it weren't for their generosity and hard work as well. Bus space is getting scarce for our next event; so far we are at 40!!! Monday December 3, 2007 Bruce's Famous Bus Trip with Ben Friedman at Riviera produce has organized a trip and tour for us to The Hunts Point Terminal Market in the Bronx and to Salumeria Biellese one of New York's most famous and well known sausage and curing institutions in NYC were chefs swear its authenticity. We will have lunch at Biricchino which is their restaurant attached to the Salumeria. Itinerary Bus pick up for our friends up north is at 9:30 am Exit 11 commuter parking lot off I-84 in Newtown, CT. and 10:30 am at the Stamford Marriott off I-95. Located at 243 Tresser Blvd. The fee for this trip is $50.00 per person and will be accepted the day of the trip. Please confirm to chefmark@tamarackcountryclub.com and I will reserve a seat for you.
